Great find in Northeast Oak Park: Bee Home and Garden
As a resident of northeast Oak Park, I've accepted that there's probably not going to me much going on in terms of retail in the neighborhood. But I recently discovered a little shop that has been open on Chicago Avenue since last year.
The store is called Bee Home and Garden. It actually reminds me a lot of Bramble (one of my favorite local businesses) with its pillows, books and other things that turn one's house into a home. They also have a small selection of foodie things like scone mix and preserves.
I'm guessing that I'm not the only person who didn't know they were there, so I will do my best to keep them in business by purchasing lots of scented candles and biscuit mix. Please check them out the next time you're looking to buy something special.

Thanks for the tip. I love to support local places but it's hard when they aren't on a route we use regularly and they don't advertise in a way we might notice.
