A Great Oak Park Meetup/Tweetup
I just wanted to write a short blog post to thank everyone for coming out for our first Oak Park Meetup/Tweetup at Lido's Caffe tonight.
It was great to meet everyone in person. This was my first Tweetup experience and I have to say that the cool thing about this (compared to other painful networking experiences) is that I think we all felt like we sort of knew each other already either from Twitter or this Web site. As a result, the conversation was great and we hung out well-past our 8 p.m. ending time.
Not only did many of us discover that we were only blocks away from the folks we've been Tweeting with, but it we had a chance to swap local restaurant recommendations, talk about arrival of the Bleeding Heart Bakery and Venezuelan restaurant, and chat about current events in the Oak Park area.
We missed those of you who couldn't make it. Based on the response and turnout of tonight's event, we'll definitely be planning another one soon! Thanks again everyone and thanks to Lido's for being such a great host.
I hope everyone likes the pictures below. I'd say we're a pretty handsome bunch of people! Thanks to Chris and Bri for suggesting I pull this event together!
