Pioneer New Shelters At Ridgeland Greenline Stop

I noticed today at the Green Line Ridgeland stop that the there is a new bus shelter for the riders!  Lovely!

It used to be somewhat of a pain to have to wait at the curb for the bus as there was no where to sit.  Often times, bus riders would just stand around indoors at the train station waiting on the bus.  Now we have these nice little shelters.   You can't see it in the photo, but there is a bench to sit down on too.   These must have been put up very recently as they were still…

Your Host Could You Go Without a Car in the Oak Park Area?

Yesterday, the commuting gods made a point to punish me with a double whammy of bad luck. On my way to work, my tire shredded itself into a mess of burned rubber. A good Samaritan was nice enough to stop and help me put on my spare. Then, as I was on my way home for my wedding anniversary dinner, the commuting gods stuck again, leaving me with a flat spare tire 20 minutes away from my house.
