"I lived in a condo just South of 290 next to the Conservatory for 6 years (2004 - 2010), then moved into a house just north of 290 by Fox Park. We do not have kids so I have no input on schools, except to say that in general seems anywhere in Oak…"
"It's a tough one. If the house is all dark, then it's hard to be mad because maybe they are on vacation or working super late. We've had days where 3 - 4 inches got dumped while we were at work, and by the time we got home poor…"
"In a pinch I have also gone with a) PeaPod because not only can you order the turkey, or ham, and all of your sides and dessert, but most of it is precooked and just needs to be heated AND it gets delivered to your door. b) I have also gone with…"
"Alas, I am terribly allergic to cats, but we do have a neighborhood cat who skulks around our yard a lot, never kept the bunnies out.

"We passed it a few days ago and it had a notice posted that looked like they got closed down because of a health violation. Probably the same sign, my eyes just focused to the words "Health Dept", yikes! Implies it's a temporary…"
"Yeah, my first thought was Yova. But loyal clientele comment makes me wonder if it is Taste of Brasil, though they seem to be doing really well lately. My money is on Yova too. Which is a shame, I really wanted them to do better. Well, and be…"
Just about everything I need is completely walkable, and public transportation is readily available in multiple locations all over the burb. Also, I grew up surrounded by trees, it's refreshing to not live in a cookie-cutter suburb where everything weas built in cornfields or all mature foliage was mowed down.
Least favorite thing about living in the Oak Park area
I wish houses were more affordable and parking were not such a major hassle for guests, but I can afford a condo and we generally get by on our 5 overnight passes per person a year, so for now I am content enough :)
