OPRF with F. P. are referred to frequently as the tri-village area.

No :) ... really just you're ratifying that there isn't a good answer beyond the obvious of OPRF.
I want there to be a better answer, but there doesn't seem to be. Of course if I didn't ask there would be an obvious one, just the way it is :)

I get all the Oak and Forest and Park variations confused. And to have Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park all clustered next to each other makes it even worse.
The more you guys give input, the more I lean back towards "oprf" ... it's accepted and understood by the hyperlocal crowd. Perhaps those that feel snubed will just have to get over it ...

"near Chicago Suburbs" sounds almost politically correct.
"Greater Oak Park" I could live with except the acronym of GOP which would be confusing.

I think you'd be getting closer with West Cook County, Cook County West, or Greater Oak Park.
I will say most people I've encountered from outside the area know where Oak Park is, but are a little fuzzy on Forest Park or River Forest.

- Hi Hank, thanks for joining. I have to agree with you that we can sometimes be a little too PC here in Oak Park (I didn't even realize we were nuke free until recently). But other than that, I think it's a great place to live! See you around on the website.
