My husband, Shawn, and I are new to town (moved from Ohio in December) and I was really excited to find this site! Our dog, Ceili (pronounced Kaylee) is defintiely not a cold weather dog, but has gotten used to walks wearing her coat, snood & booties.

Hey Danielle, have you tried the Forest Park dog park by the highway? We've only gone once because our dog doesn't like to socialize, but would have definitely gone back if she had played more.

Does anybody use the dog park at Ridgeland commons? I was thinking about getting a permit, but it's $40 and it runs Aug 09 thru Jul 10 so I would be paying for a bunch of time I didn't use it. Plus it looks like it will be closed from Feb 8th - Mar 8th. My dogs really need a place to run around! Any other ideas about dog parks close by?

The Oak Park Animal Care League is now a member of the site. They've formed a group and posted an upcoming event called Jammin for the Animals.

My husband and I are recently new to Oak Park and it has been so great that there are so many great dogs in Oak Park. Having a dog and going to the park is a great conversation starter. Plus, my doggies have lots of new friends! There are lots of rabbits and squirrels to chase too!

A local pet photographer is taking photos next week on Harrison Street. Get your furry friend made into an ornament and raise money for the Animal Care League. http://ow.ly/IJc0

Important information about lead and other toxic chemicals in pet products e.g. toys, pet beds, food bowls, etc.

We love Animal Care League - we got our kitten, Romeo and our dog, Shakespeare from there. I mention them on my blog, http://www.bemydog.com fairly often.
