Hi CarrieLynn, that sounds like fun. Please be sure to post as an event as well since I tweet those out: http://www.livehereoakpark.com/events

On Saturday, August 11, from 11-3pm, members of the Sugar Beet Coop will lead members of the public on a bike tour to examples of edible gardens and urban agriculture in Oak Park.  For $5, you can be a part of the tour and gain information and inspiration for how to transform your living space into a growing space.  For more information, visit their website (http://www.sugarbeetcoop.com) or download this flyer: SugarBeetCoopTour.docx

The annual Cheney Mansion plant sale will have lots of native plants and other perennials this year (instead of veggies, due to greenhouse problems). May 20th, 10-2. http://www.livehereoakpark.com/events/cheney-mansion-spring-plant-sale

@MAM -- kind of like that, but straight instead of at a 90° angle.  "Spading fork" is what I've heard it called... http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_07160201000P?sid=IDx200709...

Rachel, thanks so much for the hostas, and for showing me how to dig them out!  I need to get one of those forged digging tool -- I can't remember what you called it --- maybe it's a weeder fork hoe?  (http://www.easydigging.com/)

Rachel, I'd love to come by at 9 tomorrow (Fri) to dig.  Thanks!  I think you still have my e-mail; drop me a line if it's a problem, or post here.  (I don't look like my photo here anymore -- my hair is short and silver.)

Rachel, I can totally use hostas (and basically anything else).  But I have very limited times when I can come dig -- Friday morning @ 9, or next Wednesday between 9 - 11 are the only times I have childcare (and am not at work) in the next few weeks.  Would either of those work for you?
