Does anybody have any recommendations for a good pediatric dentist in the Oak Park area for our 2-year-old child? Please email me with any suggestions at jennifergorski@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

We moved to Oak Park about a year ago and we're expecting our first child in October.  We're interested in a daycare or home daycare starting around January in the Oak Park area, and would appreciate any suggestions or insights.  Also, please let me know if there are any expectant moms groups in the neighborhood.  Thanks!  You can message me at gracehlim@gmail.com

Hey Mary!

We are in the same situation also. We just moved to Oak Park and we have a 14 month old son. We didn't have any friends in the area, let alone friends with children. I ended up joining some moms groups and have found some great moms to hang out with and playdates for our son.

If you want, you can contact me on my email to discuss!

Good luck!

I still take my girls into the city to see their doc at NMPG Pediatrics. The staff is outstanding. We just make a day of it. There is children's barber shop is opening on Marion St. soon. It's going to be called Lemonmade and it opens July 23. It seems like it will be very nice and I plan to support local business and give them a try.

We've been with Pedios the entire 10 years we've lived in Oak Park.  AWESOME.  We've been with Dr. Claus; the sole man; but now my oldest daughter switched to Dr. Haukness because ya know, she's a female and wanted a female.  We've seen all of them at least once over the years for sick visits.  They have daily call hours from 8-9 and sick appointments are available every day.  The docs call back quickly if you need them off hours.  They are affiliated with Children's; so if you see a specialist at Children's they automatically get the reports.  My oldest is a severe allergic/asthmatic with several specialists at Children's and Pedios has EVERYTHING in her chart, they even call when she's discharged before I get a chance to.  The nurses will talk to you over the phone if you're unsure whether to bring your child in.  I've even seen a dad bring a dirty diaper in to get looked at.  LOL!!!  One of the receptionists is meh; but the doctors and nurses are fantastic.

Hi Gina,

I also highly recommend Pedios - they're great!  We see Dr. Rebecca Turk, but I believe they have a male doctor too if that's a priority.

Good luck!
