Hey Moms,

I'm a graduate student at UIC, currently taking a course in Social Entrepreneurship. As part of my coursework, I'm working with Life on Life Chicago, a local nonprofit, to plan and market acrobatics-related summer camps in the Oak Park area. The proceeds from these camps will help support the Life on Life's work in mentoring and youth development with kids on Chicago's westside.
I've developed a survey to help inform my recommendations related to location, pricing and overall promotion for these camps. I'd love to get your input on this. It can be accessed at https://uic.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2mkOpYqNzFoXnc9 and only takes 5 minutes to complete.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Hello Moms in Oak Park, I'm a new mother of a 22 month boy moving to Oak Park next month and i will like to ask you mothers how easy it is to live in Oak Park with a 2 year old. Also I'm looking for some advice on cheap grocery stores around the area and how much utilities run. the apartment we are looking at will have heat and hot water, so we will be paying cooking gas and electric.

thanks you in advance for your time to help me out wish you happy days

Hi Jennifer - You might like Children's Garden Montessori on Lombard.  My son is in the 2-3 year old room (diapers allowed). They offer the option of full-day care 5 days/wk which is great for our household.  They are loosely Montessori with some other early childhood education influences.  It is a very small, close-knit school with less than 20 students run by Ms. Roshan Mawani for the past 32 years.  (Note their web site is 10 years out of date, and you can't find much out about them online, but I'm happy to answer any questions or send contact information.)  We've been there since Aug and are very happy with the school.

I'm not sure if they currently are running a Saturday class, but we enjoyed Music Together at Oak Leyden: http://oak-leyden.org/childrens-services/music-together-program.

Hi Jennifer,

We've gone to Musikgarten on Harrison and liked it.  They do have Saturday classes for toddlers but they tend to fill up pretty quickly, so not sure if there are any openings.

Good luck!

Hello again - we are researching various Montessori schools in the Oak Park area appropriate for 2-3 age range and above.  Please let me know if you have any experiences or recommendations regarding schools. We are particularly interested in schools that cater to working parents (full day programming). Thanks so much in advance.

Hello - we are looking for any weekend music lesson options (toddler music group or even individual lessons at this point if it seems developmentally appropriate and the price is right) for our 2 1/2 year old who is obsessed with musical instruments. I've had a really tough time finding anything that is not completely filled up. We both work full time so weekdays aren't an option. Any input from other working parents or those who know the options around Oak Park, much appreciated.
