Are there any other Bikram Enthusiasts in Oak Park. Right now we have to travel to either downtown or to Naperville to get our fix. Why can't we get a studio to open in Oak Park or surrounding area? What's the magic formula?

I agree. Five years ago I had 3 herniated discs in my cervical spine. The yoga did more for me than PT and the Chiropractor as well. In addition, I find that the practice keeps everything in balance from eating, drinking, sleeping, etc., not to mention the mental and emotional well-being components. Naperville has a great studio but farther than I care to drive. Say hello to Chief and the gang for me!

Mari, that is wonderful news, we just resigned in Naperville - hopefully the last time. I can never stop singing Bikram praise. Two months of committed Bikram has done more than 3 PTs, 2 Trainers and 1 Chiropractor. I don't care how arrogant Bikram is, he came up with something awesome.

Welcome Mari, I have been on and off for about 3 years with a double hip replacement in between. Bikram feels fantastic but is such a commitment from the time invested standpoint. I like the studio on Chicago but the parking is a nightmare. Lately I have been attending in Naperville, love the group there. I really hate being dogmatic about Bikram but nothing else feels as good. How long does teacher training take?

OMG!!! I'm so excited that you started this group! I have been practicing Bikram for six years and have been begging Mike and Chief to open a place here. I keep hearing from Sarah (studio on Chicago) that there is talk but this has been going on for a long time. I've been to almost all the studios in the Chicago area but have settled into the one on Chicago Ave. It seems to be the most convenient from Oak Park. Maybe I should attend teacher training and open it??
