I thought I'd start a thread for folks to share suggestions for places to watch the Super Bowl in and around Oak Park. I know that the Marion Street Cheese Market is having a party. Any other suggestions?
I don't think I've actually watched a Super Bowl since '85. I still remember memorizing all the parts to the Super Bowl Shuffle, which I listened to . . . on vinyl.
This year, I'm planning on heading to Marion Street Cheese Market. They're offering a special menu, including chili, duck nachos, sliders, wings and tator tots. A bunch of us from the staff are planning on camping out, eating and drinking too much, tuning in for the commercials and generally being fools. (Like most restaurants, there are arts folks than sports fans.) Come join us!
I watch an unhealthy amount of sports and will be watching the Super Bowl! I just wanted to add some balance to the discussion...
I actually haven't heard of many places locally other than MSCM that are having Super Bowl parties. I believe Shanahan's on Madison in Forest Park is having an event. Given their Cajun/Creole theme, I'm sure they were happy to see New Orleans make it to the Super Bowl.
