Life in oak park, any suggestion?
Hi, dear oak parkers
My name is Tony from China. I am very glad to be a new resident of oak park. In the very beginning I planed to spend two months here for Chicago Bulls and the American life. However, due to the NBA lockout, my life seems stuck as well. I do not really know what I could do here regarding the two-month period.
So, any suggestion from anybody ? How to kill time?
Is there any volunteer job I could involve for the community??
Is there anybody who wants to learn Chinese? or Chinese cusine?(just easy one, coz I am a male, so....... :) or any Chinese thing????
I am FREE OF CHARGE, FREE ALL DAY LONG, seven days a week :( .easygoing and enthusiastic.
My english level is intermediate. I spent one year studying in Scotland at University of St. Andrews
By now, I have been to 21 countries and way into funny things and stories, I do appreciate it If you want to find somebody or to talk with or share your experience or own stories with me. I am a good listener also!

It sounds like you want to meet a wide range of people, but one place to start might be the local Chinese church: http://www.cbcop.org/. The main library is also a good place for events and to get connected.

If you like the arts there are loads of cultural events in the Chicago area, both in the city and in Oak Park itself. Maybe a few of us could meet for breakfast or coffer (or tea) sometime and you could tell us about life in China.
