Just learned that a tree on my property (not a public way) has Dutch Elm.
Does anyone know the mandates for the property owner for said tree?
The cost to have it removed is high and I was wondering if the village can force a homeowner to have to pay to have it removed if it is not on public property.
Any experiences, thoughts or advice is appreciated.
I had an experience similar to dollbabyTina. VOP will take it down/remove at no cost. (At the time, I wasn't aware of that service and had called several tree removal services who provided estimates and never mentioned that VOP would take it down at no cost. Thankfully, I had called the Village to get more info before hiring one of the services!!)
