In theory, yes. But as you alluded to, this is Cook County we're talking about. I won't believe it until I see it (and recheck it and reconfirm it.) Here's some more detail from the Treasurers website.

Paul replied to Paul's discussion 'March 2012 Property Tax Bill'
So, if they took 55%  of last year's tax bill to figure out this installment, can I expect the next installement in the fall to go down?   I kinda know the answer -- I've been paying property taxes in this county for almost 20…

Maya Del Sol has a private room that they use for events. I was just at an event there recently that was really well done.

In a word, Paul: Yes. You can go out to the Cook County Assessor's Office website and enter your Property Pin to see how much your total assessed value has changed for 2010 to 2011.  Your total assessed value is multiplied by the…

March 2012 Property Tax Bill

OK . .  so I'm confused. We appealed our property assessment last year, succussfully, so the assessed value of our property went down. But we got our 2011 first installment property tax bill today and it is much higher than the 2010 second installment property tax bill we paid last fall. This bill does mention that the first installment is based on 55 percent of last year's total tax bill. Is that why it is so high?See More

Summer Camps

Hi. My daughter is going to be enrolling in kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary in the fall.  She currently attends St. Edmunds Parish School.  My wife and I were looking at summer camp options in the area, and it seems like the ones that are full days end 2-3 weeks before the start of school.  We were just curious what other parents in Oak Park did for summer camps for their kids. Thanks,Dave See More
